Descript: evaluate a repeatable video and audio workflow
Test transcript-based editing on a real customer question before adding another production tool.
The situation
Descript describes text-based editing for video and audio, transcripts, captions and publishing tools. It belongs in a content-to-inquiry workflow only when the team already has a reason to make that content. An editing tool can remove production friction; it cannot choose the right topic or create demand by itself.
Work through it
- Choose one representative recording tied to a known audience question. Record the time your current process takes to edit, review and publish it.
- Run the same piece through a trial workflow: transcript corrections, content cuts, captions, export and a human accuracy review. Note the work that still requires manual judgment.
- Publish with one relevant next action and check whether the piece leads to useful questions. Compare production effort and quality with the baseline before paying for additional capacity.

- Time from recording to a reviewed finished piece
- Corrections needed after automated steps
- Relevant inquiries connected to the published topic
Boundaries
- Do not subscribe solely because a product can generate clips; a distribution plan and useful topic must exist.
- Review transcripts and generated edits before publication, especially names, claims and context.
