Opt-in follow-up after a guide download
Use the subscriber's stated interest to shape a small permission-based sequence.
The situation
Someone downloading a resource may want the file and nothing more. The signup language must explain any continuing messages, and the first follow-up should help with the topic they chose.
Work through it
- Check the exact signup wording and record its version with source and date. Keep ambiguous legacy records out of the test.
- Write one or two short messages that help the subscriber use the resource and ask a natural next question.
- Assign a responder for replies and review unsubscribes, complaints and useful conversations before extending the sequence.

Boundaries
- A download alone is not permission for unrelated campaigns.
- Avoid using opens as the sole sign of value.
